About Kelli J DeIaco, PhD...

Dr. DeIaco works from the place that everyone has goodness and strength inside of them and all are capable of learning. Both practical and compassionate, she employs an integration of cognitive-behavioral techniques and humanistic principles.

At Temple University in Philadelphia Dr. DeIaco earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling Psychology. This is an American Psychological Association accredited program. Her primary research focused on women’s self-concept and choice of coping strategies. She also investigated the experience of trauma and the effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder on young women and men.  

 Dr. DeIaco earned a Master of Arts degree in Developmental Psychology from Columbia University in New York City where her research focused on the developmental affects of childhood sexual assault for women across the lifespan. Her program of study specialized in psychopathology; identifying risk and protective factors. While in New York, she earned certification in crisis counseling and advocacy at the Columbia/Barnard Rape Crisis/Anti-Violence Support Center. This program was a New York State Department of Health certified rape crisis program.

Her post-doctoral residency focused on Cognitive-Behavioral Psychology and evidenced based practice.  Her training applied to  health related anxiety and mood disorders. She has additional training in coping with adult AD/HD and its psychological sequelae.

Her pre-doctoral internship was in the area of rehabilitation psychology with emphases in the following areas: Chronic Pain Management, Neuropsychological Assessment, Inpatient Rehabilitation Consolation and general Health Psychology.

In addition to the above, her clinical experience includes the following:

  •  Stress management and relaxation training
  •  Executive assessment and consultation
  •  GLBTQQ community (issues of relationship and adjustment)
  •  Anxiety and depression in women
  •  Coping with trauma and abuse for women, adolescents and children
  •  Coping with adolescence (for parents and adolescents)
